Pennywort – soon to be just a memory

Anemone hepatica, one of the first signs of this season. After a while windflowes start popping up everywhere. Soon the little blue beauty shall be gone. Driven away by its white relatives.

Strangely enough I tend to like the pennywort more than the windflower. Maybe it’s because it lives in the wood, where the sunlight is not much more of a thought. And where you can get the strongest of colours, just from a little bit of luck.
