Lately there have been lots of talk about Joseph Kony. And an organization named the Invisible Children. They’ve made a documentary film with the sole purpose (they claim) of making him famous.  Anyway, I am sure you know all about it.

What although I am not too sure about, is whether you’ve got any grasp on the places being name dropped for the occasion. Some being within the Ugandan borders, some not. This is a crossroad in Gulu, and photo from 2010. It’s the city where Jason Russell meets Jacob Acaye in the movie.

In general I’ll leave it up to more qualified people to discuss the KONY 2012 campaign. And Grant Oyston put the heart of the matter quite nicely into words:

There’s a reason most problems in global politics are difficult: the easy problems are fixed quickly and the hard ones stick around. But whatever you do, I urge you: don’t stop caring. Engage those around you in informed discussion, and get involved. There’s lots of work to be done.

While we’re talking about this kind of stuff; here’s my memory of Lira. If you’re interested.
